2007 year marked 25 years since Northern Ireland singer / songwriter Colin Elliott first became involved in Gospel Music. 2007 was also quite a significant year as Colin embarked on tours with his band ‘LIVE ISSUE’ to England, Scotland, Republic of Ireland and the United States of America, as well as recording some highly acclaimed albums. He is also delighted to have recently had the opportunity to endorse FAITH GUITARS and is looking forward to using his SATURN and VENUS ECLIPSE guitars on all future tours and recording sessions.

Colin started to learn the bass guitar when he was 13 and within a year, had joined a local Gospel band called ‘LIVE ISSUE.’ As members in the group’s lineup changed, so did the musical styles and influences, ranging from country to Christian rock. In 1994 Live Issue changed its name to ‘INSIDE OUT’ and the band is still playing venues throughout Ireland to this day. The original ‘LIVE ISSUE’ group reformed last year and embarked on several Gospel concert tours throughout the British Isles. One of the highlights of the year was in May, when Colin and the band had the opportunity to perform at the Whitby Gospel Music Convention in Yorkshire.  Colin and ‘LIVE ISSUE’ also toured extensively in the United States in August, which included an appearance at the ‘Midnight Jamboree’ at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

RECORDING

Although Colin is mainly known for his singing and playing ability both in groups and as a solo artist, he is also a respected record producer and session musician. He recently recorded and co-produced an album with George Hamilton IV, the “International Ambassador of Country Music,” which went to number one in the NCM Gospel and Country Charts. The CD also received 5 stars and rave reviews in Country Music magazines such as “Maverick.” Colin is presently recording two new albums for George Hamilton IV, one of which will be a duet album with many of the established stars of the Grand Ole Opry.

Colin has recorded many albums over the years and appeared on countless BBC and independent radio shows. He has also featured on some local television programmes with both ‘LIVE ISSUE’ and ‘INSIDE OUT.’

SONGWRITING

Colin’s musical experiences have been very wide and varied over the past quarter of a century, and this is well illustrated in his songwriting ability. Although Colin’s repertoire contains dozens of familiar songs, he also performs many which he has penned himself. Last year one of his more recent compositions entitled, “Lifted High From Above” reached number 5 in the NCM European Christian Music Chart and many of his other songs have inspired people throughout Northern Ireland and across the world.
